State of the Union My Ass
Last night's speech only proved one thing to me: Everyone sitting in that room, from the man speaking, to everyone listening is completely out of touch with what this country needs.
Never have I been more disgusted. The Republicans make me ill with their racist, backwards pandering and the Democrats have my utmost loathing for their lack of spine and pretending to help the people with one hand while they screw us over with the other.
They don't instill confidence. What the instill is a sense that we've been had. At least the Republicans are honest. They want all the money, all the power and screw everyone else. The slight of hand of the Democratic Party is where the real show is and why we as a people put up with it is beyond me.
With the single and notable exception of Al Franken, a bigger bunch of self-serving bastards has rarely been in one place in the history of humanity and if we'd had any sense at all, we'd have been standing outside that room with pitchforks when the speech was over.

Couldn't agree more with your view...the process has allowed us to be screwed from both ends.
